JUNIORS

Sunshine Coast Water Polo (SCWP) has a strong junior competition. The age groups are:-

Under 12 mixed

under 14 girls, and boys teams

Under 16 girls and boys teams

In the summer these games are played on Monday nights, with home and away games played by Noosa, Maroochydore/Nambour, Kawana and Caloundra Water Polo clubs. The comp is played on Monday evenings. See Draw page.

BRISBANE COMP- SCWP has junior teams playing in the Brisbane comp on Saturdays. These close games really help the players improve. Contact Helen Park if you are interested- 54481432, 0422952905 (after 3.00pm)

SENIORS

There are several water polo competitions that Over 16 players can enjoy.

Kawana Pool:- 5 a-side competition on Monday evenings for O16 players. Contact Kawana Aquatics and Leisure 54937788 for more information.

Nambour Pool:- social, come and join in a game on Thursday evening for all ages- see news page for more details.

SCWP has Open teams playing in the Brisbane comp.

REPRESENTATIVE PLAYERS

 

All registered Sunshine Coast Water Polo players can be selected into the Australian, Queensland. Queensland Country and Sunshine Coast teams.

Sunshine Coast Junior Water Polo players trial to make the Sunshine Coast Water Polo teams each year in U14, U16 and U18. These teams contest the State Championships and have been very successful in recent years. Qld squads and then teams are selected at these State Comps. Some of the Sunshine Coast junior players have already represented Australia in Europe and the USA; Qld at National Titles; Qld Country at the National Club Championships and at the Pan Pacs in New Zealand.

Open Age players trial for the Sunshine Coast Teams to play in the Qld Country Championships each year. Qld Country teams are selected and play at the Australian Country Championships annually.

TRAINING

All four clubs have water polo training sessions each week. Players are welcome to join the training sessions at any of the pools. Some sessions cater more for the beginners and others for those players that are serious about their water polo and keen to represent their Region and State. Many players also attend a few swim squads a week as speed and endurance in the water are valuable skills.

Cost - Club players need to register with QLD Water Polo (includes insurance)

Registration Fees for the 2007/2008 year are:-

U12 - $60, U18 - $120, Open $140. (approx)
